Gravesite Curbing
Let's talk about more types of gravestones for a while. Curbing, in the context of graves, refers to a low border made of stone or concrete that surrounds a grave or plot. It starts slightly underground and extends only a few inches above the ground surface. The middle of the grave curb is open, but it may be filled with gravel, turf, or plants and flowers. These particular ones have a headstone and a footstone which are part of the curbing. Some curbing in older sections of a cemetery may be around the entire family plot, not just a single burial.
