What does wheat on a gravestone mean?

Lets talk about symbols on gravestones for a while since I have tons of pictures, heehee. Sheaths of wheat can symbolize the Body of Christ, but they can also represent the deceased person's long and well-lived life (a full harvest). It is believed that, like the oak leaf, wheat symbolizes a life that has been “harvested” by the reaper when it was time. The presence of this symbol on a gravestone can be seen as an acknowledgement that death is part of the cycle of life, and it serves as a reminder that death should not be feared but embraced as part of our journey.
